Martin Gujan and fellow Swiss MTB superstar Fabian Giger have paired up for the 2015 Absa Cape Epic. Representing the Paarl Media OMX Pro Team, both riders bring international stage race wins and World Cup podium experience to the demanding eight-day adventure through the Western Cape region in South Africa.

The 2015 Cape Epic is a fresh attempt for Martin and Fabian together, but their partnership is built on an established friendship. The pair have the credentials to make an impact on this race, and do not hide their ambitions for a stage podium. Martin and Fabian would also like to be well-positioned in the final general classification, the accumulative time after eight stages. They are set to tame the wild African challenge on the home soil of title sponsor and leading African professional printers, the Paarl Media Group. The Group’s unwavering support ensured that travel to South Africa was arranged and Fabian’s spot was secured.
“When Guschi first contacted me about the Cape Epic, I was immediately excited. Martin is a strong rider and a good friend, making him a great fit as a partner. I hope that the Epic will give me the best training plus great experiences, and in terms of results, we hope to be on the podium at least once and finish in a good position in the General Classification. This is the Epic and anything can happen,” says Fabian.

Martin will ride aboard the Silverback Superbike Concept, the first ever rider to pilot this bike at the Cape Epic. Silverback’s support in getting the team to the Epic has never floundered, and the technology behind the bike will support Martin in the same way at every stage and handle anything the course throws his way.
Martin says, “Both the Cape Epic and the Silverback bike is something new. I will be well prepared and hope for the best performance. I am confident that the bike will see me through. Fabian and I have a good understanding with similar mind-sets therefore the partnership will be strong. I am excited.”

The Gujan/Giger pairing is new but should not be underestimated.

The partnership, the pedigree and the ambition are there.
We are taking this on, #weareOMX!
